Spain, 2012

Costa del Sol, 2012
Just some idle thoughts and a lot of photos. It's been a while since I've done a blog, even though I was an "early starter" with the "Lizzie Letters"  (2004!!!)

http://lizzieletters.blogspot.nl/

This was the first time the Care Farm had actually been "closed" in 4 years, even though we'd had a few breaks along the way, including a trip to Australia which was possible due to Janny's sister "minding the farm".

Janny made a "last minute" booking which seems pretty cheap but we might do it differently if there is ever a next time. There seemed to be so many apartments available that we think we could have found one closer to the beach and WITH airconditioning!

Anyway, the highlights were....
The Caves of Nerja (no photos, unfortunately).
The city of Ronda, complete with the "oldest bullfighting arena in Spain",
and La Alhambra in Granada.
The beaches, food, swimming pool and climate were all very wonderful indeed.
First 10 photos are in and around Nerja and our apartment.

The longest drive we had was to go to Ronda.

The next highlight was La Alhambra. Ben had been looking through the leaflets thinking where could we go and he picked this for no particular reason. It turned out to be an inspired choice as we just couldn't believe how spectacular it is. The history, of course and the workmanship of more than a 1000 years ago.......
